As a new teacher, I found it overwhelming to navigate what seemed like hundreds of standards I needed to cover with my students. As a veteran teacher of 20+ years, teaching writing has always been my biggest struggle. I have taught 4th grade for 7 years, and our current class has achieved more standards’ mastery than ever before. As a special education teacher, I can’t speak highly enough about Symplifyed standards-aligned group goals. When writing IEPs and creating goals, I am able to ensure that they are targeted to students’ levels based on the common assessments and aligned with essential standards that all students are working on. I’ve been able to see more academic growth and grade-level mastery (and confidence!) for students on my caseload across grade levels this year than I have in years past. As a co-teacher, the grade book makes assessing and grading so streamlined. We are able to know right away which students need reteaching and which students have mastered a skill. We finally found a resource where writing is taught as a simplified and comprehensive process. As a teacher of 16 years, I love the direct focus towards the standard, and then the documentation that it entails in the group goals. It is very clear and focused! Using these assessments for our volume unit, it became very clear that our students mastered the volume standards a lot sooner than we had originally planned for. I was just recently introduced to this exciting way to access and quickly review and record my students’ proficiency with each of the required standards. I pulled my students together in small groups to review, reteach, and reassess any part of the standards they did not get a proficient score on. As a whole, they felt more successful too. This assessment tool has short exit ticket-like quizzes that zero in on the required standards, so I could just work on reviewing those small portions instead of the entire unit. I normally do this type of review anyway, but I have to stop, review my quizzes, reteach, and then create new assessments. This has already been done for me. It saved me so much time. I can’t wait to use this program in future units of study. Lastly, the data that I recorded in their clearly laid out spreadsheets will make it 100% easier to complete our standards-based report cards. Everything I need to report is on the platform.

Teachers using Symplifyed conducted a student-led conference with a clear and detailed academic progress monitoring, surpassing traditional report cards. It included academic and social-emotional goals tailored to my child, resulting in significant growth and increased responsibility.
